Glen Lyon Route
- Start at the car park by the phone box in Invervar (NN 666 482)
- Cross the road and follow the track beside the burn through the forest. (If you take the wrong track and end up in someone's driveway, take a minute to throw some sticks for the friendly labradors.)
- Cross the old bridge on the left at the end of the trees (NN 659 494)
- Head west-south-west on to the ridge and then follow it to the summit of Carn Gorm
- Descend north-by-east, bypass An Sgorr, and then head north-east up Meall Garbh from the col
- You can now follow a long line of rusty fence posts to Carn Mairg
- Drop to the col between Carn Mairg and Meall Liath. Head first south, then south-east to the summit of Meall na Aighean
- Descend west initially and follow the ridge to the path beside Allt Coire a Chearcaill which leads you back to the track near the woods
- From there, follow the track you started on back to Invervar
NB - This is not intended to be a full and complete route description, merely a representation of the general route taken to take the accompanying photographs. Please remember that hillwalking is a potentially dangerous activity and that there is no substitute for adequate skills in navigation by map and compass.
