The Lakes Route - Helvellyn, Dollywagon, St Sunday Crag

1. Start at the car park near the hotel in Patterdale (NY 395 159)
2. Walk along the road in Patterdale towards Glenridding and turn left on to a minor road just before Grisedale Bridge
3. Follow this road just past the kennels (You'll hear them!) and then turn right
4. Take the path up to the Hole in the Wall
5. From the Hole in the Wall, take the path to Red Tarn (NY 350 154) and continue up Swirral Edge on to Helvellyn
6. From Helvellyn, travel roughly south across Nethermost Pike to Dollywagon Pike and then follow the path down to the east side of Grisedale Tarn
7. Cross the stepping stones and take the path that slopes east-north-east up the side of the hill to NY 361 126
8. Turn left and take the path over St Sunday Crag. From there follow the same path all the way to NY 386 157, taking care on the steep descent
9. At the path junction, take the path south-east (later turning north-east) back to the hotel
