The Lakes Route - Helvellyn, Dollywagon, St Sunday Crag
- Start at the car park near the hotel in Patterdale (NY 395 159)
- Walk along the road in Patterdale towards Glenridding and turn left on to a minor road just before Grisedale Bridge
- Follow this road just past the kennels (You'll hear them!) and then turn right
- Take the path up to the Hole in the Wall
- From the Hole in the Wall, take the path to Red Tarn (NY 350 154) and continue up Swirral Edge on to Helvellyn
- From Helvellyn, travel roughly south across Nethermost Pike to Dollywagon Pike and then follow the path down to the east side of Grisedale Tarn
- Cross the stepping stones and take the path that slopes east-north-east up the side of the hill to NY 361 126
- Turn left and take the path over St Sunday Crag. From there follow the same path all the way to NY 386 157, taking care on the steep descent
- At the path junction, take the path south-east (later turning north-east) back to the hotel
