Lawers Ridge Route

  1. The Lawers Hotel in Lawers village will usually let you use their carpark on the understanding that you spend some money there afterwards
  2. Set off north (soon turning north-east) along the road and take the farm road on your left just past the horn carver's shop. Quite soon the road will veer right but you continue straight on along another path. There was a signpost at this point when I did this walk.
  3. Follow the path uphill to the footbridge (NN 672 420) and then turn right and plod your way up to the summit of Meall Greigh any old way you like
  4. From here a broad, grassy ridge takes you to Meall Garbh and descending into the next col from there presents you with the east face of An Stuc, an easy scramble which is over and done with quite quickly
  5. Follow the track south-south-west over Creag an Fhithich then up to the summit of Ben Lawers and there's an obvious track from there to Beinn Ghlas
  6. Descend on the path to the visitor centre

NB - This is not intended to be a full and complete route description, merely a representation of the general route taken to take the accompanying photographs. Please remember that hillwalking is a potentially dangerous activity and that there is no substitute for adequate skills in navigation by map and compass.
