Ben Vorlich and Stuc a' Chroin Route
- Park just west of the hump-backed bridge at Ardvorlich (NN 632 232)
- Follow the track south through Ardvorlich by the river
- When the path splits take the right-hand fork up the north ridge to the summit
- Head west then south-west to Bealach an Dubh Choirein
- Continue south-west from the bealach and then scramble up to the northernmost cairn on Stuc 'a Chroin
- From there head south to the summit
- We descended west then north to about NN 615 181 then headed roughly north-east-by-north to rejoin our approach route but I wouldn't recommend you do the same. My companion ended up on his arse two or three times because of the ice. ;-)
NB - This is not intended to be a full and complete route description, merely a representation of the general route taken to take the accompanying photographs. Please remember that hillwalking is a potentially dangerous activity and that there is no substitute for adequate skills in navigation by map and compass.
